If I have an Amazon Kindle, is there a way that I can hook it up to my laptop and get internet on my laptop? Sort of like a EVDO PC Card??? I am thinking of purchasing one but need to know first.

Thanx!

Here is an article about the Amazon Kindle wireless reader device. All of the features are listed http://ysdata.com/bloglog/?p=36

Someone told me there's an electronic mind reader which can read your mind, so if I was to think "aardvark", it would get it(possibly with a series of questions?). I forgot what he said it was called…

Is this online?

are you thinking of 20q? www.20q.com
it's not a mind reader though. Not at all.
It's actually a neural net, i.e it learns data that's input from the millions of users, and possible combinations etc to come up with a suitable output from the answers you give.

I have a friend who wants the sony digital reader, and he lives in Ireland. Does anyone know when sony plans on releasing it internationally?
Thanks.

my guess would be within the next couple of years.

Has anyone played with the Sony Reader (http://www.learningcenter.sony.us/assets/itpd/reader/)? What is your opinion of it as an eBook reader? I'm a Mac user. Would the Connect software's lack of Mac compatibility be a major problem in using this device for me?

Yes….. I´m a PC user so.

I read many reviews, and this is never clear. Amazon charges you to subscribe New York Times, Washington post, blogs on Kindle. But if the web browsing is free, who will pay?

Yes it's free for now, but it is rumored that Amazon starts to charge it when "experimental period" ends. Notice that web browser is in the "experimental" section of Kindle.

I'm curious because they are becoming more widespread here.

Some people are nervous about them but there is always tension when there is change.

The media forgets to vell viewers and readers that previous types of ballots were susceptible to abuse as well.

So, IN OTHER COUNTRIES, what kind of methods are used in your countries to vote?

Canada still votes manually, i don't think that we will change seeing how F#$Ked up the system in the states is, i feel sorry for all of you wasting yout time today, the outcome is enevitable…. FIGHT FOR CHANGE OF THE SYSTEM

I don't want to sound like a dummy but I was thinking about getting a digital reader and was on the Sony site and I seen to the side some additional service plan prices and was wondering if these were costs to have the book or were like warranty prices? Just curious. Thanks.

it all depends on the eBook reader you get. Some of them have wifi and cell phone chips inside so that you can donwload books on the go. You don't have to use those services if you don't want, you'll just have to plug the eBook reading into your PC to download new books.

I am in desperate need for a handheld device – a smartphone, PDA or any other which I can use to read ebooks . I want to read .pdf .pdb .lit .txt .doc .prc etc and I would like something which I can use to read comic pdfs hassle less. also pdfs with dual column text. even if the handheld doesn't come built in with these features a handheld for which softwares are readily available would be fine.

Hey D Step,
