I am looking for a decent size screen. I don't want to buy a PDA and have to scroll down every 10 seconds because I'm finished reading the 3 inches of text it can display. It will soley be used for reading ebooks. Thanks.

I've been looking for something like that too and I've found Sony Reader to be the best choice. Take a look at the page to see it's features. The Ink Technology makes you feel like reading from paper. There is a link also on the page where you can buy it from.

Right now, I'm in a country where any electronic gear is a bit overpriced. Without considering what might be available in my particular (undisclosed) location:

What is the cheapest eBook reading solution available?

I found a site with LOT of free eBooks (ones which don't look horrible) and I would like to take advantage of the English titles which are hard to find here.

I considered my phone, but have not found an ebook reader, plus the screen would be a pain to read anything long on.

The Sony book reader, and the iLiad eReader are both VERY expensive, even in the States.

What about a palm? An old model palm or other pda? One that is easy on the eyes?

All suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks for answering :)

Buy any Pocket PC / Windows Mobile 2002, 2003 2003SE or 2005 (WM5) device (they are pretty cheap on eBay). You can install Microsoft Pocket Reader for free – and there's THOUSANDS of free ebooks available online. It's a GREAT reader program – you'll never know how you did without it. Microsoft also supply a free plug-in for Microsoft Word that allows you to create ebooks from Word documents. Listed below also

The Sprint SIM card included in Kindle and the internet browser installed in the experimental menu, allow to surf the web without limits or only on certain sites?

The Kindle runs on Sprint's EvDO network.. that's a CDMA network, not GSM.. thus, no SIM card. But it does have built-in 3G cellular modem. And Amazon pays all connection costs, other than when you email something directly to your Kindle… that costs 10 cents.

Since Amazon is essentially footing the bill for access time, they like to see something out it.. like a book sale/delivery. So it's likely that Amazon's site works really well. And they feature Wikipedia access as a "feature", but of course, Wikipedia is very simple HTML.

The story so far is that, yes, you can browse for free. But you're not going to have much success at sites other than for text and graphics.. which of course, only come in monochrome. And the "digital paper" display may be a bit slow for a great web experience. No PDF support, either. Of course, any of this stuff could change as they continue to develop the device.

Although the Kindle can play audiobooks, they aren't letting it download those over the air… you have to sync them through your PC. The books they send are very small, as it's text and monochrome low-res graphics.

Every time I go to a library book sale people are always typing something in on their phones and pulling certain books or scanning the barcode with some sort of reader. what are they doing and no they arent the employee's of the library or sale.

Also i tried asking the people but they wont tell me.

It will be interesting if the Volunteer Groups will begin banning such devices that may even be tapping into Library Wi-Fi zones to send internet queries once the device scans an external printed ISBN off the back of a book cover or paperback bound cover. You're right that the users of such devices get defensive and even verbally abusive if you ask them what they are doing because in no uncertain way they are "poaching" where regular book sale patrons do not get outside cues as to which used books to bring back to those who are interested in the used materials. Probably there is a certain kind of thieving going on.

I need to write a book review, but my teacher wants the title to be somewhat creative or interesting, to pull the reader in, not just “Book Review.”

In case this helps, the book is Brave New World – maybe any references to the book in the title would be creative?

Something like, “A Brave New Review” would be stupid, right? I want to be original.

Or maybe, if I make a bad review, it could be like, “Digital Doom” or something.

I need suggestions – help is very appreciated!
It doesn't have to necessarily be about the book, just something unique, or funny, or creative…
I didn't write the review yet, I figured a creative title could get me going. xD

It has to be under 75 words, though. =/

What does your book review focus on? You should write the review first and then come up with the title for it. So they are cohesive.
