No. It's a marketing ploy. They have been trying to market these eReader or eBook things for years now (probably over a decade). The only thing different about this one is that you are locked into buying books from Amazon now, instead of whoever you wish. Sounds like a move out of Apple's playbook.
Anyways, my Nintendo DS can do this as well as play all of the video games made for it. I'd rather not have to carry around two devices if I ever do decide to give up the trusty paperback (not happening!).
I used to have this electronic object on the sims 2 it was a pregnancy reader thing, it was orange coloured and it showed how many babies ur having and how far along u are. If anyone has this object or knows the name it and knows where to download it please tell me. Thanks
I was thinking it was the Insimenator too, but the object that allows you to do all those things in the Insimenator is a microwave oven, not an ‘orange thing’. igot an email from the book shop i shop at, im told that they are used for reading text versions of books. Thing is the one advertised seems good but for 199 pounds seems a little expensive, is there a cheaper one with good battery life ect?
Get a PDA instead. You can get them for similar prices, and they do other stuff too.
I have a Sony ebook reader and the only place I can buy the books for it is from the Sony Connect on line store. Unfortunately they only accept the use of credit cards with USA addresses. Living in the UK I obviously don't have the address that I need. Does anyone know a way around this?

when I download an ebook from www.mobipocket.com, the file i downloaded saves as a .prc file after saving I cannot open it on my computer. Can I only open it on my mobile and would it harm it in anyways? ty
a PRC file is for Palm Pilots. Your palm pilot can read that (or an ebook program on your palm pilot can).
