One thing that is ( ...
One thing that is (apparently) ignored by reviewers... SEARCH! The biggest drawback of treebooks is that even with the best index, it's almost impossible to find a specific passage by 'searching' for a word or phrase. Electronic search is the BIGGEST argument for ebooks.... but apparently (since it's not mentioned) the Kindle doesn't have a 'search' function on books installed in its memory. Curious the issue is ignored....

EXCELLENT REVIEW! ...
EXCELLENT REVIEW! OCD attention to detail and depth. Thanks for the Colbert book purchase demo. This should be the gold standard for product reviews ie- just show it in use, very objective. I have Ebooks on my iPhone but eye fatigue occurs with the small, bright screen.

You can carry ...
You can carry hundreds of books in it and download new books in 1-2minutes direct to the kindle ANYWHERE that a cell phone works because it has EVDO built in. There are no contracts or fees... connectivity is in the price of the device. I can forsee more features being added to the kindle as the next gen comes out. This thing is a dedicated ebook reader, NOT a palmtop computer that doubles as an ebook reader, however, I can easily see full web browsing coming. I wish we had this in Europe.
